NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF THE
HEAVY-DUTY DIESEL ENGINE SOFTWARE UPGRADE REGULATION

By notice dated August 26, 2003, and published in the September 5, 2003, California Regulatory Notice Register,
Register 2003, No. 36-Z, the Air Resources Board (the Board or ARB) announced that it would conduct a public hearing
to consider adopting the proposed heavy-duty diesel engine software upgrade regulation. This proposed software
upgrade regulation mandates installation of software to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from 1993-1999
model year heavy-duty vehicles.
PLEASE BE ADVISED that the hearing on this matter has been postponed until further notice. The ARB will
send an additional hearing notice stating the new date and location, once determined. The current comment period,
which had been scheduled to end at 12:00 noon, October 22, 2003 per Notice dated October 16, 2003, remains open.
