The California Air Resources Board sponsors a comprehensive program of research into the causes and effects of, and possible solutions to, the air pollution problem in California. The goal of the research program is to provide timely scientific and technical information needed to develop and support the public policy decisions required for an effective air pollution control program.

About Research Notes
The Research Division published two-to four-page synopses (Research Notes of some of the projects described in Air Pollution Research. Most of our Notes published from 1993 through 1997 are on the Web (for reports for which there isn't a research note, the report Abstract is available as a separate document). In Air Pollution Research , those projects for which Research Notes are on the Web there is a linked notation, "Research Note _____." Note that Research Note titles are not usually the same as research project titles.
