Ultrafine Particulate Matter in Community Air - Observations from a Twelve Station Network in Southern California

Speakers will describe the nature and sources of ultrafine particles in community air, present monitoring data from a twelve station southern California network, and discuss associations with other pollutants and health concerns related to these particles. This network represents the largest and most comprehensive deployment of ultrafine particle monitoring technology ever attempted.
     
Dane Westerdahl is the Health Advisor to the Health and Exposure Assessment Branch of the Research Division. He has 26 years experience at the ARB overseeing health effects research and related air monitoring programs.

Dr. Ken Bowers is an Air Pollution Specialist in the Health and Exposure Assessment Branch of the Research Division. He is responsible for the operation and quality review of air pollution monitoring performed in support of major health-based research studies in southern California and Fresno.
