Background
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has been leading several multi-agency research programs to characterize vehicular emissions. The completed and ongoing emissions research are listed as follows.
Vehicle Emissions Research Programs
- Research of Physiochemical and Toxicological Properties of Vehicle Emissions
- Phase I: CNG and Diesel Transit Buses
- Phase II: CNG Buses, Heavy-Duty Diesel Trucks, and Light-Duty Vehicles
- Particulate Measurement Program (PMP)
- Light-Duty Vehicle (JRC "Golden Vehicle")
- Heavy-Duty Vehicle I: Portable in-use Reference PM Measurement
- Heavy-Duty Vehicle II: Diesel Solid Nanoparticle Emissions
- Light-Duty Gasoline Vehicle (LDGV) High-PM Emitters
- On-Road Vehicle Emissions Measurements with Remote Sensing Devices (RSD)
- On-Road Measurement of Light-Duty Gasoline and Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicle Emissions
