In order to minimize smoke impacts, California
regulates the use of prescribed burning as tool for agricultural
and forest residue management. The Smoke Management Guidelines
encourage, and in some cases require, burners to evaluate alternatives
to burning for agricultural, wildlife and fire hazard reduction
purposes.
This interactive web page has been designed
to help land managers and others identify biomass processing facilities
and service providers that may help them manage and get rid of their
vegetative materials via alternative methods.
Biomass processing facilities include biomass-to-energy power plants,
landscaping materials companies, and building product manufacturers.
Biomass management service providers include chipping, processing, and
hauling companies.
Use this interactive
map to locate biomass service providers near you. After
identifying your geographical area, a table of companies and service
providers
may be generated by clicking on a map feature.
Additional information on
alternative biomass treatments as well as resources and other web links
may also be obtained from this page.
