In-Station Diagnostics Vapor Recovery Workshop

Dear Sir or Madam:

In March 2000, the Air Resources Board (ARB) approved the Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) regulations, which became effective on April 1, 2001. The EVR regulations require vapor recovery systems to include an In-Station Diagnostic (ISD) system for new installation starting on April 1, 2003 for dispensing facilities with a throughput of 1.8 million gallon per year. Since ISD systems are considered technology-forcing, an ISD Pilot Program was established in 2001 to evaluate the ISD system's performance and cost-effectiveness. The results of the ISD Pilot Program will be presented to the Board at a Technology Review in 2002.

The ARB will hold a workshop at the time and place listed below:

  For the workshop we will provide a status of the ISD pilot program, present data and performance validation results, and solicit comments on draft ISD validation and inspection procedures and approving ISD as a non-system specific component by system type.
