Financial aid available for small businesses to buy cleaner off-road vehicles
ARB helps Foresthill family business get logging vehicle
In 2011, Amanda Godon replaced her company’s high-polluting logging skidder with a cleaner, more modern model with the help of an ARB loan and a grant from the Placer County Air Pollution Control District. Getting the financing was fast and simple, said Godon, who owns a brush clearing and tree removal service in Foresthill.
ARB offers the competitive-rate loans to small businesses as an incentive to replace or upgrade dirtier off-road diesel vehicles and equipment earlier than required by law, said Erik White, assistant division chief of the Board’s Mobile Source Control Division.
“Owners of off-road vehicles are driving away with more modern, cleaner-running equipment, and Californians are getting the public health benefit of cleaner air to breathe,” White said.
