07-2-1:

Public Hearing to Consider Amendments to the Regulations for the State Ambient Air Quality Standard for Nitrogen Dioxide
ARB staff is proposing amendments to the State ambient air quality standard for nitrogen dioxide. The proposed amendments, which establish levels of ambient nitrogen dioxide considered safe, are based on a joint ARB/OEHHA review of the scientific literature. The staff report and the recommendations it contains were peer-reviewed and approved by the Air Quality Advisory Committee. Staff is proposing a lowering of the current 1-hour average nitrogen dioxide standard of 0.25 ppm to 0.18 ppm, and establishment of a new annual average standard of 0.030 ppm.
