97-5- 1 Public Meeting to Consider the Approval of the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District s 1997 PM10 Attainment Demonstration Plan as a Revision to the State Implementation Plan

Air Resources Board staff will brief the Board on the PM10 Attainment Demonstration Plan recently adopted by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District in response to federal Clean Air Act requirements, discuss how the Plan addresses the Act s mandates, and recommend that the Board approve the Plan as a revision to the State Implementation Plan.

97-5- 2 Public Meeting to Consider the Status of Manufacturers Efforts to Develop Aerosol Antiperspirants and Deodorants to Meet the January 1, 1999, Standards in the Antiperspirant and Deodorant Regulation

This item is a status report on manufacturers efforts towards compliance with the January 1, 1999 aerosol antiperspirant and deodorant standard.

97-5- 3 Public Meeting to Consider a Status Report on the Perchloroethylene Needs Assessment for Automotive Consumer Products

This item is a status report on the need to control perchloroethylene (Perc) in consumer products.

97-5- 4 Public Meeting to Consider Proposals for the Air Resources Board s Innovative Clean Air Technologies Program

This is the third year of the ICAT program. The status of eight ongoing projects will be reviewed. Two representatives from two contractors will discuss their technologies. Subsequently, four proposals for funding will be described, and resolutions to fund them will be presented. The four proposals presented for consideration by the Board are (1) Hybrid Electric Prototype Truck (HEPT) Project, by ISE Research; (2) Low Combustion Gas Turbine Field Demonstration, by Catalytica Combustion Systems, Inc.; (3) Radial and Thrust Gas Bearing for Fuel Cell Turbocharger, by Meruit, Inc.; and (4) Application Demonstration for Dual Stage Biofilter for Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW s), by the Reynolds Group.

97-5-5 Public Meeting to Consider Research Proposal:

Proposal No. 2333-199, entitled, Air Monitoring Program for Determination of the Impacts of the Introduction of California s Phase 2 Reformulated Gasoline on Ambient Air Quality in the South Coast Air Basin, submitted by Desert Research Institute, for a total amount not to exceed $206,445


Open Session to Provide an Opportunity for Members of the Public to Address the Board on Subject Matters Within the Jurisdiction of the Board

Although no formal Board action may be taken, the Board is allowing an opportunity to interested members of the public to address the Board on items of interest that are within the Board’s jurisdiction, but that do not specifically appear on the agenda. Each person will be allowed a maximum of five minutes to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak.
