Standards to Control Emissions from Aggressive Driving and Air- Conditioner
Usage for Passenger Cars, Light-Duty Trucks, and Medium-Duty Vehicles under
8,501 Pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
Studies conducted in the past several years have shown that the Federal Test Procedure, used by the Air Resources Board (ARB) to determine compliance with vehicle emission standards, does not accurately reflect various driving conditions, such as aggressive driving and use of air-conditioning. During these operating conditions, emissions can be substantially higher than those measured during the normal Federal Test Procedure driving cycles. Staff is proposing supplemental test procedures and associated emission standards to control emissions during aggressive driving and air-conditioner usage. |

Open Session to Provide an Opportunity for Members of the Public to Address the Board on Subject Matters Within the Jurisdiction of the Board
Although no formal Board action may be taken, the Board is allowing an opportunity to interested members of the public to address the Board on items of interest that are within the Board’s jurisdiction, but that do not specifically appear on the agenda. Each person will be allowed a maximum of five minutes to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak.
