Chiquita Brands Case Settles for $10,800

Chiquita Brands has paid $10,800.00 in penalties $8,100.00 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,700.00 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges), for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached in July 2011.

An investigation by the ARB showed that Chiquita, failed to properly label their diesel powered TRU generator sets. To settle the case Chiquita agreed to the $10,800.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU regulations.
