Daiso Holding USA Case Settles for $4,600.00

On January 7, 2013, a case was settled with Daiso USA Holding for selling “Beeda Hair Mousse” and “Styling Mousse” (Hair Styling Mousse category: 6% VOC limit); “Hard Hair Gel” (Hair Styling Products: Aerosol and Pump Spray category: 6% VOC limit); and “Mens Styling Hair Cream”, and “Mens Beeda Hair Foam” (Hair Styling Products: All Other Forms category: 2% VOC limit), subject to the VOC limits, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). These products contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding their respective percent by weight VOC limits. The products also failed to display the date of manufacture. There were approximately 0.006 tons of excess emissions. The company paid $4,600 to settle the case.
