Finbeck Services LLC Case Settles for $2,250.00

In September 2012, Finbeck Services LLC paid $2,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,687.50 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $562.50 went to the Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.

An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Finbeck Services LLC failed to bring one of their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the TRU Air Toxic Control Measure regulation. To settle the case, Finbeck Services LLC agreed to the $2,250.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, TRU and other ARB programs.
