On August 30, 2012, a case was settled with Homax Group Inc. for selling non-compliant general purpose cleaning wipes into retail outlets in California in 2008 and 2009 that exceeded the 4 percent by weight volatile organic compound limit in the Consumer Products Regulation, Title 17, California Code of Regulations (CCR), section 94509 (a). Although the VOC emissions were small, it was a second violation for the company and Homax Group, Inc. agreed to pay $9,000 to settle the case.
