Young’s Truck Center, Inc. dba Advantage Truck Center, LLC Case Settles for $14,500

In June 2018, Young’s Truck Center, Inc. dba Advantage Truck Center, LLC (Young’s) settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). A routine investigation by CARB revealed that Young’s sold, offered for sale, and/or advertised non-exempted aftermarket parts which is unlawful and in violation of California Vehicle Code section 27156(c) and California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2222 et seq. Such parts replace or modify vital original emission components and manufacturer specified engine operating conditions, and thus must be evaluated by CARB to demonstrate continued emissions compliance.  Young’s has agreed to pay a penalty of $14,500 to the Air Pollution Control Fund. The penalty obtained in this case is $500 per unit for approximately 29 parts.
