The Air Resources Board (ARB) is California's state agency responsible for protecting the public from unhealthy levels of air pollution.

The ARB sponsors scientific research, sets air quality standards, monitors and tests the air for pollution, passes regulations that reduce air pollution, enforces these regulations, and encourages the development of low and zero-polluting technology. It is recognized as an international leader in air pollution research, technical assistance, and regulation.
