| Comment | Dear Sir:
I live in San Diego. By law my vehicle is required to meet strict
emission standards. I also must show proof of insurance to the
department of motor vehicles. Each day thousands of cars come
across our border from Mexico. The cars do not meet our air
emission standards. They are not up to our safety requirements.
The majority are not insured. From experience I can tell you that
driving behind just one of these cars----you can smell noxious
fumes 10 car lengths away. The drivers are not insured and they
do not adhere to our vehicle driving codes. I respectfully
request that regulations be put in place on all vehicles crossing
the border into the U.S. to control smog, vehicle safety, and
insurance.
Sincerely,
D. Cook |
