| Comment | I support an agenda to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25% or more
by 2020.
The most promising way to reach this goal is to give consumers the
choice to buy Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEVs). But ZEVs, as we know,
will not be voluntarily produced by the manufactures unless their
are incentives and mandates in place.
Unfortunately, I am told, you may reduce the number of ZEVs
required of automakers by 90%, settling for only 2,500 from
2012-2014.
This is unacceptable.
Please, I ask that you:
1. Require the full 25,000 ZEVs that automakers had promised for
2012-2014, and
2. Create a separate requirement for plug-in hybrids that lets
them replace the dirtiest vehicles in CARB's regulations, rather
than the cleanest ZEVs.
Choice for consumers means cleaner air for everyone. And as we all
know a continued reliance of fossil fuel energy poses a critical
national security problem for the United States as well as a dire
health concerns for planet Earth and its inhabitance.
