| Comment | After reading the plea from Mercedes to contiue down the path of
"assist the expensive long-shot" of Fuel Cells (by allowing FCV's
to count more than other cheaper, instantly available
technologies, and by supporting expensive fueling infrastructure)
- I have to again ask that CARB stay technology neutral. When
technology sides are chosen, we all lose. When ZEVs of any type
were required in the 90's, many thousands of ZEVs were placed on
the road. When FCV's were given preferential treatment, almost all
BEVs were removed from the road, and here we sit with nothing to
show for the efforts.
Can we now stop the madness? Desirable BEVs could be built and
placed in service 12 years ago. We can charge them at home with no
new infrastructure needed. We can make our own renewable fuel for
them. Insist on ZEVs of any technology and let the chips fall
where they may. Give preferential treatment to the long shot, and
we'll just keep on shooting. We need the cars, not the promises.
