| Comment | As a native California and resident living adjacent our forest
lands, I strongly urge the Air Resources Board to adamantly oppose
industrial clear cutting of forests as a carbon emission offset.
Trading smokestacks for denuded and desertified forests is not a
trade at all, it is a crime against the forest and all of its
residents, with ill effects in the larger balance of climate
protection. Sustainable harvesting and management is the most
prudent means of reducing climate instability and science supports
that. We need policy makers who are bold enough to stand up to
industry pressure. I urge you to be that bold.
