Subject | Please vote NO on higher emmission targets |
Comment | I am concerned about the proposed recommendation to increase the target amount of the AB 32 Scoping Plan to more than 5 million metric tons. Please do NOT increase the Regional Transportation Targets any further. The burdens will already be tremendous and our economy simply cannot bear the weight of additional requirements. I have been following the implementation possibilities of Senate Bill 375. It is readily apparent that there is still no clear process and outcome for SB 375. That process needs time and effort to work. Any action by your Board to increase limit numbers will make SB 375 implementation more cumbersome, more uncertain, and ultimately make SB 375 implementation take longer. Home builders want to see SB 375 and AB 32 work, but we want to do it in a manner that is predictable, and works for our State's economy as well. If you create a moving target, then I'm afraid there will be a backlash against SB 375. You need to keep the AB 32 limits realistic in order to maintain the support of the construction industry throughout California and eventually throughout the United States. Again, please do not increase the Regional Transportation-Related Greenhouse Gas Targets. Thank you for your consideration. |
