| Comment | I strongly support Governor Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2020. One of the most
promising ways to reach this goal is to allow consumers to buy
Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEVs), like the Tesla Roadster.
Thus, I urge CARB chair, Mary Nichols and CARB to resist pressure
from automakers to reduce the number of ZEVs required of
automakers by 90%, settling for only 2,500 from 2012-2014. This is
significantly fewer ZEVs than the 25,000 ZEVs these the CARB
bravely mandated from automakers for 2012-2014.
I further ask that CARB create a separate requirement for plug-in
hybrids that lets them replace the dirtiest vehicles in CARB's
regulations, rather than the cleanest ZEVs.
