In this economic climate, we need to be encouraging the
construction, building and home building industries by allowing
home buyers to be able to purchase and sell homes. While I am an
advocate for the clean business practices as well as consumer
practices, the jump to levels above 5 MMT would cause unreasonable
economic hardship through excessive regulation on homebuilding and
community building. There is a housing problem in California with
overcrowding. Legislating mandates on homebuilding will decrease
construction activity and cause more loss of jobs to an already
hard hit construction industry which provides good paying jobs to
American and Californian families. Lets be reasonable and realize
the effects for driving businesses into severe financial
difficulties and driving up home prices and adding to the
affordability problem with regulations discussed in the Sacramento.
