Gentlemen,

We need to shift our transportation fuel from oil to electricity.

I have been following the ZEV debate for over a decade, and am
disapointed at the results.

Had GM continued with their R&D trajectory with the EV1, we would
have a significant number of EV's or PIHV's on the road today.  

I own a Prius and a Ford Escape Hybrid.  I can't wait for the day
when another EV is available for sale or a PIHV upgrade is
available for my vehicles.

Please do not dilute your mandate any further.  Lithium Ion
battery technology is within our grasp and just a few years from
mass production.
