Clerk of the Board,
Please DO NOT vote to remove the existing commercial recreational
boat fleet from service.This would be an economical disaster for
the owners and operators of these vessels. This would essentially
put this important and viable sector of the economy out of
business. The costs associated with this proposal would mean the
end of recreational ocean fishing for thousands of people. These
are Mom and Pop businesses that operate on little profit.
If the State and the Feds stepped up and helped with small business
grants to fund this change, I would support it. But, as written
this is a disaster of a proposal.
Please reconsider your proposal.
