SubjectProposed Gas Tax Increase
Comment
As a senior, and as a resident of California my entire life, I have
seen the quality of life shift from a comfortable middle class, to
a lowering of standards of living due to State mismanagement of
spending, inconsiderate taxation to accommodate that spending, and
a disregard for the population's wellbeing. The middle class is
disappearing. If reforms aren't made, soon this will be a welfare
state due to taxation and the majority of the allocation of funds
going to welfare, which will be the only place people will be able
to exist in California. Prices are going up, and people are being
let down. Putting even more taxes on gasoline will put the crown
on this dismal scenario. We can't afford to stay and we can't
afford to move out of state. Our people can't take another hit
from tax increases. Transportation is the practical foundation of a
life in California. Social Security and fixed incomes raise an
average of 2% per year COLA, inflation has raised to 28.8%! DO THE
MATH! More study needs to be done about how this proposed
increase will affect the population in California! Please do that
study with a different perspective on it's effect!
