Capping greenhouse gas emissions is a great thing to try to do but
clear-cut forests create grave problems, like diminished
biodiversity, soil erosion, and greater susceptibility to fire and
disease. Forests are intrinsic to clean air. It would be unwise to
allow  clear-cutting with the intention of capping greenhouse
gasses.
