| Comment | Dear CARB,
I am concerned that the California Air Resources Board is
considering weakening the current Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV)
regulations. It seems to me that this is a move in the wrong
direction and that now is the time to strengthen, not weaken,
these requirements.
I am close to buying a new car that will reduce my carbon
footprint. It's not practical, I suppose, but I would very much
like to have the option of purchasing a zero emission vehicle.
But if you act now, perhaps in a few years we'll be able to
replace my wife's car with a ZEV vehicle.
So I support the your staff's proposal to significantly increase
the number of plug-in hybrids that must be produced and appreciate
staff's vision in including these cars in the ZEV requirements. A
plug-in hybrid that has an all-electric range, but that also runs
on gasoline when the battery is empty, would be ideal for me now.
