Dear Committee members,

    I write to urge you, the California Air Resources Board, to
support th strongest (and current) Zero Emission Vehicle
regulations. Zero emission vehicles are urgently needed to reduce
air pollution, and help in the fight against global warming. Now
is the time to strengthen, not weaken, these requirements.

    As a car owner, I am concerned about pollution as well as the
high price of gasoline. I am looking forward to making my next car
a zero emission vehicle. I am very concerned if automakers are only
required to make 150 ZEV vehicles per year.

    Finally, I fully support the staff's proposal to significantly
increase the number of plug-in hybrids that must be produced and
appreciate staff's vision in including these cars in the ZEV
requirements. A plug-in hybrid that has an all-electric range, but
that also runs on gasoline when the battery is empty, is a great
option for consumers like me.
