| Subject | Don't weaken ZEV requirements |
| Comment | Dear CARB, I understand your desire to encourage hybrids and hydrogen internal combustion vehicles -- they do have a role to play. But NOT at the expense of completely gutting California's ZEV requirements. ZEV can also play a needed role -- see the report from the Union of Concerned Scientists. The proposed reduction to 2500 ZEVs, coupled with loopholes and lack of transparency, is a joke. Please keep the requirement for a substantial number of ZEVs on California roads. In combination with solar power on my roof, a ZEV would let me substantially reduce my carbon footprint and my contribution to global climate change. The same holds true for California overall. Encouraging hybrids and hydrogen cars is a good idea, too. Dan Quinn Portola Valley, CA |
