| Comment | Dear California Air Resources Board,
I am writing today to ask that you not weaken the current Zero
Emission Vehicle regulations that you so valiently promoted. As
you well know, zero emission vehicles reduce air pollution thereby
fighting global warming. Now, with awareness of all things GREEN,
these requirements should be strengthened not weakened.
As a potential car purchaser, I am concerned about air pollution
and the high price of gasoline. I would like to have the option of
purchasing a ZEV and reducing my own carbon footprint. This is
unlikely to be available, though, if automakers are only required
to make 150 ZEV vehicles per year.
Finally, I fully support the staff's proposal to significantly
increase the number of plug-in hybrids that must be produced and
appreciate staff's vision in including these cars in the ZEV
requirements. A plug in hybrid is a great option for consumers
like me.
Again, I implore you not to weaken the Zero Emission Vehicle
regulations.
Sincerely,
Karen O'Rourke
