| Comment | My daughter Audrey was nine when we were forced to give up the EV1
electric car we had been privileged to lease.
She said that she never wanted to drive a car that used gasoline,
and asked if there would be electric cars available when she was
old enough to drive.
I said I wasn't sure, but that the EV1 was only made because
people at CARB had required it, and that the future of zero
emission cars would be dependent on the diligence and courage of
the people at CARB as well.
I explained that, though I was convinced that many, many people
would choose to buy and drive ZEVs, as consumers we can only
choose from what is offered to us and in the case of Electric cars
manufacturers on their own have proven unwilling to give us that
option.
Audrey will turn fifteen this fall. She is a straight A student,
and someone keeps leaving the Tesla Motors site up on my browser.
I could use some help here.
Seriously, we all need your help. Please do not allow any further
weakening or delays in the implementation of ZEV regulations.
