I would urge you to consider a range of greenhouse gas emission
reduction targets for cars and light trucks. I was born in Los
Angeles and have lived here my entire life. When I was a child I
remember how clear the air was and how much better the quality of
life was before there were so many freeways, cars, trucks, and
smog.

Years ago, I remember days when the smog was so thick it was
difficult to play sports outside, and I couldn't see mountains that
were 100 miles away.

Now that I'm in my sixties, I believe we have an opportunity to be
a leader in adopting new technologies that will once again make Los
Angeles one of the most desirable cities in the world for my son
and his children.
