Oil imports from the Amazon are harming indigenous communities
and shifting California's environmental problems to the poor people
in South America, while continuing to increase pollution here in
our own state. Please stop importing Amazon oil, and push for more
investment in solar and wind power instead. This in turn will
make it more affordable for more people to use electric cars
instead of gasoline powered ones.
I can't believe that our own Air Resources Board would
consider increasing petroleum imports of any kind, much less
from the Amazon.
