| Comment | An auto repair invoice is already a complicated and time consuming
contract that most consumers don't care to understand. Regulation
after regulation has been heaped on the auto repair industry to the
point that it is extremely difficult to conduct business in this
state. This regulation will add another layer of responsibility to
the industry that belongs to the consumer. Reputable shops
including tire shops, service stations, smog stations and general
repair shops all check tire pressures and have for many years. To
be forced by a regulation to now document this practice is nothing
more than a feel-good for the bureaucrats.
The driving public that drives around on under inflated tires
likely has not been in a shop in a very long time. They don't care
about tire pressure unless the tire is flat. This regulation will
do nothing to ameliorate this practice.
As a business owner, I am struggling to survive under the present
load of regulations. To add another regulation, especially one of
dubious value, is just another strike against California
businesses.
I urge you to either not put this regulation into place or to
make it much less onerous to small and large businesses.
Sincerely, Greg Kelly. V Pres, Kelly Autoworks, Inc
