| Comment | My name is Laura Neish, and I am a resident of Santa Rosa. Written below are my comments on board item act19. PM from diesel engines is toxic! We need 21st century technologies for the 21st century. California should be aggressively leading the way with innovative, health-protecting, life-saving pollution protections like the Advanced Clean Truck rule. Air pollution shortens lives, and is expensive from a public health perspective. AND the research connecting COVID-19 mortality to long-term exposure to air pollution emphasizes how harmful toxic are is to our residents. Diesel exhaust is particularly harmful. Please pass the Advanced Clean Truck rule, and other transportation regulations to help CA meet its emissions reduction goals. The pandemic begs for solutions, not delay. California is a case study for strong protections buttressing a strong economy. The Advanced Clean Truck rule will create resilient new jobs and spur our economic recovery. |
