Subject | Jet Fuel and Low Carbon Fuel Standard |
Comment | Airline fuel is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gasses in California, significantly impacting air quality, contributing to climate change and preventing California from meeting its green energy future goals. Airport workers and people who live in airport-adjacent and flight-path communities are demanding to know why the staff report's recommendation to remove exemptions to the Low Carbon Fuel Standards was taken out. Did you know, even 10 miles away from LAX the air is twice as polluted as air not impacted by air travel. Children who live within a 5-mile radius of the airport are 4x more likely to have asthma. Trains, trucks, cars are all regulated. Why aren't airlines? |
