Airline fuel is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gasses in
California, significantly impacting air quality, contributing to
climate change and preventing California from meeting its green
energy future goals. Airport workers and people who live in
airport-adjacent and flight-path communities are demanding to know
why the staff report's recommendation to remove exemptions to the
Low Carbon Fuel Standards was taken out. Did you know, even 10
miles away from LAX the air is twice as polluted as air not
impacted by air travel. Children who live within a 5-mile radius of
the airport are 4x more likely to have asthma. Trains, trucks, cars
are all regulated. Why aren't airlines?
