| Comment | Hey there,
I drive a Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid (not the plugin hybrid). It gets me
around 50-60 mpq. It is not showing on the current list of
permitted vehicles, even though the mpg is very similar and
slightly better than the plugin version (because it is lighter I
believe it gets 1 more mile per gallon on city traffic). It is
rated at 57-59 (city-freeway).
Furthermore, I offer rides to carpoolers with the Google Waze app.
I routinely have 2 or 3 regulars on my carpool. Howeler, there is a
section of freeway traffic in my way, which often is congested
(between San Diego Rancho Bernardo and MiraMEsa). I could greatly
reduce my drive time to the benefit of carpoolers if I was
permitted to use the HOV lane when I am committed on the ride, with
Waze. I typically am starting with the carpool confirmed and in
progress before I have the option to enter the HOV lane.
Please make it so that drivers of the waze app are permitted to use
the HOV lane when they are in a carpool in progress even if the
pool buddies are joining the ride down the road after I exit the
freeway. It's all for the benefit of reducing congestion, polution
and increasing worker productivity, getting to work faster.
Thank you for your consideration.
-Philip
