My name is Schuyler Morgan, and I am a resident of [Oakland].
Written below are my comments on board item act19. Because I can't
breathe otherwise.  I have asthma like symptoms during spare the
air day, when there is heavy smog and temperature inversion during
winter months holding the clouds down with no wind to move the
dirty air away and our fires have been a horrendous contributor to
dirty air.  Too many people crammed into our SF Bay area due to big
company hiring with no plan for affordable housing close to
business causing employee stress with long agonizing commutes,
dirtying the air, and ruining our once admired quality of life here
in CA.  Enough is enough.  We need to rethink policies that bring
in big businesses without plans for housing employees in and around
the  employer campus.  Too many things are killing everyone and
raising health care costs due to stress induced illness and no
leadership overseeing and addressing the numerous stressors and
dirty air that is killing everyone and creating long term cancers
and illness in the very young, too. Asthma is on the rise for
everyone. We must demand clean air!!!  Our government policies are
old, out of line and no longer meeting the disruptions supposed
"bring in tax revenue into the cities".  We need smarter people at
the helm.  Governance is not looking out for the citizens and their
quality of life with the density and crowds everywhere.  We have
become the slaves of capitalism.  Money for the top 1 % and share
holders and that's that along with the greed of housing market that
is killing people.  We have no time or money for "life".  We've
become human doers vs. human beings.  This has got to stop.  Too
many inept people are running for office and elected to become 
political puppets for the 1% that is writing the bills to be passed
in their favor at our expense and in the pockets of their puppets
in the senate, house and now judges and the supreme court and we've
let it happen due in part by lies, corruption and egos gone awry. 
Politic and Politicians  are destroying our government institutions
and our constitutional democracy.  I've lost respect for those that
govern and their bad decisions that are ruining the world because
of money and greed.  Pathetic.

Here in California, its more important than ever that we move
forward with health-protecting, life-saving pollution protections
like the Advanced Clean Truck rule. Weve long known that our air
quality crisis leaves Californians gasping for breath, and worsens
and shortens lives. In light of new research from Harvard that
connects COVID-19 mortality to long-term exposure to air pollution,
shifting heavy polluters like diesel trucks in the state to zero
emissions solutions has taken on a new significance.

I urge you to stay the course and pass a strong Advanced Clean
Truck rule, as well as other transportation regulations that will
promote a zero-emissions future. We cant afford to lose ground on
key public health measures during a public health crisis.  

California has long proven that we can clean up our air and protect
our climate while stewarding a strong economy. Regulations like the
Advanced Clean Truck rule can spur thousands of new clean energy
jobs. They will play an important role in Californias economic
recovery while also saving everyday Californians from the economic
toll of lost workdays and the healthcare costs of pollution-related
illness. Its time for everyone to do their part for Californias air
 and all of our lungs  as we face challenges to public health in
the Golden State like never before.
