There's enough doubt about whether certified wood stoves eliminate
particle pollution to stop this initiative and do a lot more
research is done. 

In our personal experience- when a neighbor changed their old wood
stove to a EPA certified stove- we didn't even notice the
difference in the amount of smoke.

Much better to subsidize gas stoves or another alternative to wood
burning rather than institutionalizing wood-burning devices that
will stay in use for many many years.
