| Comment | It stands to reason if your sole purpose is to make cleaner air
that you write and support legislation as you do. In reality though
you are tasked with balancing the needs of all citizens and the
need for clean air. CARB has done a wonderful job in most respects.
The air we breathe today is the cleanest it's even been. I can
remember back to the days of my youth when you could not see the
San Mateo/Santa Cruz ranges across the peninsula from Palo Alto and
Los Altos regions.
That is mind why is it you see fit to tighten even further
restrictions already placed on a small yet financially beneficial
group of enthusiasts. It should not be the mindset of politicians
that 'We must do something, even if it is wrong, to make people
think we care.' Isn't it a better approach to act when needed, not
just to simply act?
This is just a common sense approach to an issue that really should
not need to go further. The scope of improvement versus the impact
of new additional limitations do not add up. I urge the Board to
back away from these attacks on human recreational activities and
let our society return to a freer and simpler opportunity in the
pursuit of happiness.
