| Comment | 1. Many more people may lose employment than current CARB
estimates, including installers, distributors, testers, and
recertifiers--as well as support staff. As many as 500 people
would be effected. About ten companies would be effected.
2. Many applications will never be produced in the aftermarket,
which are more and more common on newer vehicles. Ford, for
example, makes so many versions of certain models that they cannot
and do not stock them. This includes metal substrates and manifold
cats.
3. O.E. works better and is tuned to computer and sensors better
than universal aftermarket converters.
