| Comment | We lived in San Carlos, California from 1968 to 1972. The air
pollution got so bad we couldn't see across the Bay at times.
California has been a leader in many actions that have been
adopted across the nation. You have an opportunity to once again
bring the state into the forefront by not only reducing pollution
but reducing our dependence on gasoline.
You can do that by recommending to Gov. Schwarzenegger a strong
program that will put thousands of Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV's)
to use. Electric cars now have the range to satisfy the driving
needs of a majority of people, especially in cities. There is a
demand for these vehicles and the auto companies can produce them
more economically in higher volumes. Don't make the mistake you
made earlier in killing the electric car. Such vehicles can make a
real difference in improving the economy and environment of our
entire country for the future.
Sincerely,
