| Comment | The revisions to the site class system in Appendix F are quite confusing. In particular, the definition of the Forest Service's 7 site class system and the table just below this description on page 114. It is unclear how the standard method of site index by species should be converted into the 7 classes. Will a project proponent have to calculate cubic foot annual growth? If so, at what stage of stand development or over what portion of the baseline projection? Is there a crosswalk that is approved for use? Also, the column header is "Basal Area Cubic feet/acre/acre". These are 2 different measurement so what does it mean? Please make an effort to clarify this language or else I fear there will be a great deal of mis-interpretation on the part of the verifiers and project developers. thank you, Paul Harper |
