   I am writing to strongly encourage you to support the quick
implimentation of battery electric and range extended electric
vehicles as being by far the best short and intermediate term
solution to the environmental, economic and political problems
caused by our total reliance on petroleum based transportation.
   Since many states follow California's lead in this area, your
action is vital.
