Please hang tough on these standards.  We desperately need to move
into the new paradigm, not eliminate our competitiveness wallowing
in a "can't do" attitude. This is actually a couple of decades
overdue, at least.  Don't blink now!  Our future depends on it. 
Not to mention our grandkids.
