| Comment | Dear Chairwoman Nichols,
I would really like to have the option of driving an affordable
electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. I believe that the auto
industry is blind to the demand and calcified in it's ways. It is
up to CARB to give them the kick in the pants they need. Please
strengthen the ZEV Program.
Specifically, I ask that CARB require at least the full 25,000
ZEVs that automakers had promised for 2012-2014. Please create a
separate requirement for plug-in hybrids that lets them replace
the dirtiest vehicles in CARB's regulations, rather than the
cleanest ZEVs. And finally, create incentives for plug-in hybrids
that have the most on-board electricity storage.
We need cleaner alternatives and ZEV's and plug-in hybrids can be
made today to offer that alternative. CARB needs to push
automakers out of their old world thinking.
Thank You,
Charles Sowers
