| Comment | Dear Air Resources Board and Board Members,
In advance of the March 24th California Air Resources Board (ARB)
meeting and the Board review of the zero emission vehicle (ZEV)
Program, we'd like to share the following material with you. We
have been working with Legislators and Local Elected Officials in
the Northeast to show there is very firm support for a strong
review of the ZEV program. As you know, the decisions that the ARB
makes on March 24th will directly impact the growth of the ZEV
markets in the states that have adopted California's regulation.
The northeast states have a multi-state goal of putting over 3
million ZEVs on the road by 2025, and have been gearing up for the
anticipated expiration of the travel provision in 2018 within the
ZEV program by implementing supportive ZEV policies and programs at
the state and at local levels.
The attached supporting material shows broad support for ZEVs and
the ZEV program at the state and local levels. Attached in pdf form
please find:
-a letter from 18 legislators in the northeast, with the large
majority of signatories representing transportation, energy,
climate, or technology committees
-letters from local elected officials in the following states,
including city mayors and Council members from: CT, ME, MD, MA, NJ,
NY, RI, VT and Oregon, representing over 100 signatures
Please let us know if you have any questions on this material.
Thank you.
Best,
