SubjectPlease stop different start times for CA students; hardship on families
Comment
Dear California Air Resources Board,

Please stop the later school start times for California's high
school and middle school students.

This has caused an enormous hardship for families, including
parents and grandparents, who can't afford the fuel for all of
these drop offs, and the gas taxes.

Additionally, many of our families use church food banks. They are
missing out on getting vital food for their families, and the start
times/lines at food banks (usually by 7:30 am at the latest).

Why not ask students, "Would you like to eat, and have your family
get food from the food banks, or would you like to starve a large
part of the time in order to sleep in?" Hands down, our youth will
vote to EAT!

The out-of-touch Democrats in Sacramento NEVER think through
anything, nor bother to ask people how this impacts them. I am a
San Francisco Bay Area native, raised among a family of teachers
and farmers. I've also worked in high-net worth tax law (estate
planning) law offices with billionarie clients/tech founders.

The reason the Dems just lost the presidential election, and
control of Congress, to Republicans is that the Dems have ZERO
grasp of the needs of every day folks. I'm a Dem, and I can do
math. The Dem party should try it.

I am just astounded, as a moderate Democrat in California, and
transplant to Fresno, CA (Central Valley) like many priced out of
the expensive, urban, coastal housing markets, how out-of-touch the
elite Democrats in Sacramento are from the daily realities that
everyday families face. These families ARE the majority.

Regards,

Ms. Michaela Bennett
