Board Members, you are supposed to have the public's best interest
in mind, remember that. It's no secret that the cost of living has
become unbearable in this state. By passing this new gas tax, you
are choosing to make it harder for low-income and middle class
families to survive. Do you really think all families can afford to
buy a new electric vehicle? Can you? What about the issue of
housing where many people don't have a home where they can charge
their car, because all they can afford is an apartment? Not to
mention the lack of EV charging stations. This will not help with
the environment, and you know it. All you're doing is hurting
families. Thank you member Takvorian and member Flores for voting
No on this. My humble family and I appreciate you both for having
empathy and common sense. For the rest of you, if you follow
through with this, I hope you can sleep at night knowing you are
contributing to high cost of living in California. I'm glad you're
family is struggling like ours is, because if they were you
wouldn't even consider this.
Gas will be $6.00 minimum permanently in California, no matter who
is in the Oval Office, who controls the House or the Senate in D.C.
The immediate effect will be "at the pump", however, this will
affect everything. Gas prices affect groceries, goods, and
services. What is also incredibly laughable is the people who are
going to be affected the most by this are the low-income and
disenfranchised communities. The very same communities you elitists
Democrat politicians and beaurcrats claim
you care so much about and want to help. You completely out of
touch, and you may think the rest of the country are the uneducated
hicks and you're so righteous and educated but there's a reason why
the Federal government keeps bailing us out.
California has the most people living below the poverty line and
the most homeless, over 33% of the nation's homeless. We have the
most people in the nation living on welfare and government aide and
this is what you think will help? All you unelected elitists
Democrats do create problems then try to solve them with more
layers of government that cause more problems and the cycle
continues. Do some self reflect and realize the problem is you. 40%
of California this election voted for Trump and it's only growing.
One day you may learn or maybe you won't but either way you'll be
out of a job sooner rather than later.
